From 1996 thru 2012, multimedia artist Elizabeth Lennard found inspiration in Gertrude Stein for works in media ranging from large format altered gelatin silver prints, digital pigment prints, light boxes, household objects, live performances, including a video- opera at the MC93 Theater at Bobigny, and creations of Stein’s short plays. In 2011 she completed a documentary film on the Stein Collection, broadcast on the European cultural ARTE channel and shown at the Grand Palais in Paris during the French leg of the “Stein Collection” show currently at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The following is a selection of this work in view of an exhibition.
